Vinton Dogwood Festival

The Vinton Dogwood Festival, now heading into its 63rd year, is the pre-eminent annual event for the Town of Vinton and the Roanoke Valley. As a nonprofit, community-focused organization, the Vinton Dogwood Festival provides free family entertainment for the community while promoting Vinton and Roanoke Valley businesses.

The festival opens with a Carnival Midway on Wednesday, April 25 at the old William Byrd High School ballfield, providing entertainment for kids and adults alike. Cole Shows Amusement Company, Inc. will be returning as the carnival midway supplier for 2018 with FREE gate admission every day (carnival rides, games, concessions vary in price), and even a Pay-One-Price-Ride-All-Night event on Wednesday, April 26th . Best of all, live entertainment is held nightly on the Main Stage. The carnival will run every night between the 25th and the 29th.

Dogwood Saturday, April 28th, features a 5K run/walk, craft, food and retail vendors, 2 entertainment stages, a free Kids' Zone with inflatables, and a petting zoo, the crowning of the Vinton Dogwood queen and much more. The annual Dogwood Festival Parade steps-off at 2:30 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial, and the Carnival Midway stays open until 11 p.m. with live entertainment.
