The Fredericksburg Welsh Festival is the Fredericksburg area oldest and longest running Celtic Festival.

It takes place on September 16, from 11:00am until 5:00pm in the 900 block of Charles Street in front of the James Monroe Museum.

This Festival celebrates the Welsh culture America in honor of Elizabeth Jones, the mother of our 5th President, James Monroe.
Headlining Welsh traditional music performers include Iona, Moch Pryderi and Jodee James with DragonFyre. Also performing is the Stafford Regional Choral Society.

Welsh Folk Dancing will be performed with audience participation.

Other Welsh cultural features include talks on Welsh musical instruments, Medieval Archery,
Rugby, Welsh Language, Genealogy, Storytelling, and Jay Harrison will discuss James Monroe during the American Revolution.
Our festival is very family friendly, childrens activities include street chalking and face painting.

There will be a Welsh Market with a variety of Celtic related vendors and information tables.
The Fredericksburg Welsh Festival is presented by the Welsh Society of Fredericksburg and The James Monroe Museum.

A donation of $5.00 for adults and $1.00 for Children is requested to support the festival.
This event is partially supported by funding from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
