Description:

From Virginia Kentucky District Fair & Horse Show Website:

As one of Virginia's longest continuing county fairs and Southwest Virginia's largest fair venues, the Virginia-Kentucky District Fair has proudly featured fun and excitement for all ages since 1913! Along with a week full of everyone's favorite carnival rides by Drew Exposition, the fair also offers something new and exciting daily! Whether it's the mud-slinging, off-road Mud Bog Competition, the clashing and crashing of the Demolition Derby, the fun filled evenings of great Horse Shows, or a night spent enjoying concerts by chart topping musicians, the Virginia-Kentucky District Fair has something for you! The fair also presents a Talent Competition and the Miss Virginia-Kentucky District Fair Scholarship Pageant. McDonalds Farm is open daily featuring exhibits of agriculture, arts, crafts, needlework and clothing, home economics, and youth division exhibits. Kids Day provides a day of one-price rides for children under 12, along with activities such as face painting and magic shows.

The Mud Bog Competition boasts a mud pit that is up to 3 feet deep and around 200 feet long. Big mud tires are definitely a good option for your off-road vehicle, pick-up truck, or SUV, when competing for the title of 1st Prize Mud Bogger, as competition is classified based on tire size and judged by time and/or distance.

The talent competition, pageant, and concerts are presented on a stage which many locals remember as the stage and fairground scene of the locally filmed, Hollywood hit "Coal Miner's Daughter."

The Demolition Derby is one of the most exciting events of the fair; offering heart-wrenching, edge of your seat excitement for all who dare to watch!

Our Horse Shows are affiliated with both the Kentucky Walking Horse Association and the Central Kentucky Reining Horse Association. Featuring up to 30 classes, trophies and payouts are awarded to the top contestants in each class. All horses must have current negative coggins and a complete list of rules & regulations is provided on the fairs website www.********.***
