The historic Workhouse Arts Center, in collaboration with Catriona Fraser, presents its first national arts festival.The Workhouse, a former prison opened in 1910, is now Northern Virginia's premiere center for the arts, home to over 60 studio artists, regional, national and international exhibits in 12,542 sq. ft. of galleries, and theatrical performances serving the Greater Washington DC Region on its 55 acre campus. The festival will feature an additional 100 (plus) of the nation's best artists exhibiting painting, ceramics, glass, fiber/clothing, mixed media, wood, jewelry, printmaking, photography, furniture, digital art and sculpture. The two day event includes free parking, live music, children's activities, and great food from the area's favorite restaurants.

Visitors to the festival will be from the affluent Northern Virginia area. As ranked by Forbes magazine, Northern Virginia is home to 2 of Americas 10 richest counties including Loudoun County and Fairfax County. The Workhouse is centrally located in Fairfax County, 20 minutes south of Washington DC, with easy access just off interstate 95. With an annual attendance of 75,000 visitors to the Arts Center, an additional 10,000 visitors are expected for the festival. The dedicated staff of marketing professionals at the Workhouse will insure extensive media coverage.

As Director of the Bethesda Fine Arts Festival and Director of the Fraser Gallery; Catriona Fraser brings outstanding experience to help produce a world class Arts Festival. The Workhouse Arts Center has an outstanding reputation, leading the arts community in Northern Virginia, and can provide ample parking and early set up time for venders. Artists may set up as early as 10am on the Friday before the start of the festival, and 5am on Saturday morning. Artists who travel by RV may park at the Workhouse with notification to the center. Free food and drink will be provided to the participating artists and Workhouse volunteers during the event.
