The Blacksburg Partnership, a non-profit economic development organization serving the Blacksburg area, announces plans for the 7th annual Fork and Cork festival on Saturday, May 2. Most significant to this year's festivities is a new, spacious location at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (CRC). "This will be a huge change for us," said President Diane Akers. "We're excited about the opportunity to revamp our festival layout, add to our vendor space, and create an even more enjoyable experience for our guests. Fork and Cork will be bigger and better than ever."

The festival will take place at 1600 Innovation Drive. In addition to onsite parking, shuttles will once again be available from the Chicken Hill parking lot and from various lots within the CRC.

This year, Fork and Cork attendees will sample wines from more than 20 wineries across the Commonwealth. The Wine 101 tent will host seminars throughout the day, and guests will have the opportunity to peruse the handmade creations of local artists and purchase food and wine-related gifts. Delicious festival fare will tempt appetites, with local restaurants offering an array of signature dishes to purchase and cooking demonstration areas showcasing the talents of regional chefs. There will be free tastings while they last. In addition, the festival will have an outstanding backdrop of live music from two stages.

"Our goal is to showcase the finest of Virginia wines to all of our attendees. We want Fork and Cork to become a yearly destination for Blacksburg locals and beyond," said Blacksburg Partnership President Diane Akers.
