The Fair celebrates the art and craft, the animals and the machines, the work and the pastimes of rural living. In 2013, the Sedalia Country Fair delighted attendees for its 22nd continual year. 2013 also saw the advent of the winning combination, the Sedalia Country Fair & Gathering, as our 2012 Gathering for Sustainability and the Art of Mindful Living brought its own vibrant focus to the traditional Country Fair.

Because it's wedded to the soil, country life maintains its timeless qualities even as time passes and technology changes our lives. The Country Fair & Gathering brings together conventional, traditional, and cutting edge approaches to farming, gardening, animal husbandry, and rural home life. You can come out for a day of fun, enjoying the animals, exhibits, and demonstrations, and you can come out to share ideas with people who live through and with their land. Generally, it will be hard to tell the difference between learning and just having a good time.

The Country Fair & Gathering especially welcomes children, to enjoy the animals and demonstrations, but also just to enjoy a day of outdoors play fueled by their own imaginations.
