51st Annual Art on the Square

Art on the Square is one of JWCW's principal fundraisers to support community art initiatives. We are proud to announce our 51st Annual Art on the Square will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 10am to 5pm.

Art on the Square is a juried show that is dedicated to providing original, high quality, handcrafted and diverse mediums of art. It is located on Duke of Gloucester and North Boundary Street in Merchants Square, Williamsburg, Virginia. The event features over 160 artists and is free and open to the public. Proceeds from artist booth fees are donated to visual and performing arts organizations throughout the greater Williamsburg area including Williamsburg, James City and York counties.

Richard DePaul, the featured artist for our 50th Annual Art on the Square, graciously donated an original watercolor, "Springtime at the Raleigh" (pictured left). The original watercolor and several prints were raffled off on the day of the show (Sunday, April 28, 2013). Raffle tickets and commemorative posters were sold at the JWCW Registration Tent. All proceeds from the raffle ticket and poster sales directly support the Junior Womans Club Art Scholarships, which are awarded to talented local high school students to further their visual and performing art educations.
