This summer is a watershed year for the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival. We will mark our 50th anniversary of bringing outstanding music to the vest-pocket village of Orkney Springs, Va. Since the conductor's baton dropped at the first concert in 1963 that has been our goal. Because of the continuing bad economy, however, that mission is in jeopardy.
In order to get through this rough patch, we have established the Future Fifty Fund, with the goal of raising $100,000 by the end of 2013. This fund will help us ensure that great music will continue to echo through the hills of Orkney Springs.
