| Description: | This is a fund-raiser for a local non-profit, New Land Jobs, that provides no-cost career and job search counseling and services for the unemployed. The show is a Crafters, Artisans and gardening show to be held at the River Ridge Mall on Candlers Mountain Road. Our goal is approx. 100 vendors spaced throughout mall common interior areas. Outside sites are available for an additional fee. Motor home/camper parking is also available. This is an artisans and crafters show-no buy sell. The Virginia Cooperative Extension will host gardening workshops during the event. Entertainment in the form of strolling performers is being negotiated. Promotion will take the form of billboards, radio and newspaper advertisements. Posters and corporate sponsorship. A.C. Moore Craft Stores will be providing promotional support. This is the first event for this organization and the first crafters fair in Lynchburg in over 5 years. The staff of New Land Jobs as well as River Ridge Mall are committed to the success of the show and, particularly, the success of the vendors. A fall event (November 09) is also being planned. | |
